Photo of Jeweler and Metallurgist John Mehan, Brother John working in his shop at the Ragged Point Inn. Digital Photography Tips and Tricks: Use a large media card to store a lot of photos so you don't have to delete any photos before you get back to the studio, sometimes you get lucky and get a great creative looking photo by mistake; like this photograph of Brother John making jewelry in his workshop.
I was shooting promotional shots of Brother John working and when I reviewed this one on my cameras' viewer I thought it was a throwaway. I made some adjustments like moved that jewelry that was giving those light kicks at the bottom of the picture and moved the Visa credit card sign because I thought it was ugly, then went on shooting for hopefully better pictures. When I got back to the studio and reviewed the pictures I had shot this "throwaway" photo of Brother John was my favorite; to me it looks like a conglomeration photo (it is just one photo, as is, unedited), it just looks cool. I always try to use a large media card and plenty of back up because I shoot a lot and I want to keep all the photographs that I shoot until I get back to the studio to review them on my desktop.
